It’s almost time to register for the 24th International Sculpture Conference: Sculpture, Culture, and Community. Join us in New Orleans, Louisiana for this two track conference, featuring four days of panel discussions, workshops, a keynote address, artSLAMS, and networking events. Early bird registration for the 24th International Sculpture Conference: Sculpture, Culture, and Community will open for members in June. ISC members can register early to save $150 off the regular registration rate, and ISC Chapter members always save more.
Programming for the 24th International Sculpture Conference will be at the Contemporary Arts Center New Orleans and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, just blocks from the Renaissance New Orleans Arts Hotel.
The Contemporary Arts Center New Orleans and Ogden Museum of Southern Art will each present two exciting exhibitions during Art for Art’s Sake, a New Orleans annual street party, opening October 4, 2014.
Mark of the Feminine: a selection of works by female artists living and working in the Greater New Orleans area. This exhibition marks the re-emergence of the CAC’s annual exhibition series—established in 2011—that provides a space for contemporary, New Orleans-based artists to engage with local, national, and international audiences. This year’s exhibition will be curated by Regine Basha.
ISC’s 2013 Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Awards: a juried exhibition to recognize outstanding sculpture students and to encourage their commitment to the field of sculpture. This exhibition will travel to the Contemporary Arts Center New Orleans and features the work of 12 talented sculpture students from around the world.
Self Processing – Instant Photograph: will feature a large and varied array of photographs shot with instant film. Before the instantaneous gratification of digital photography there was instant film, which made photography quick and accessible to all.
The Gasperi Collection: will focus on self-taught art of the American South from the collection of Richard Gasperi, a New Orleans gallery owner. Consisting of more than 500 objects, the Gasperi Collection includes objects ranging from Native American basketry and Tramp Art furniture to icons of self-taught art.
Announcing the littleSCULPTURE Show…
