Registration for the 24th International Sculpture Conference: Sculpture, Culture, and Community is now open! Members can register early to save $150 off the regular conference rate, and chapter members always save more. Early bird rates are limited so register soon.

 
 

The 24th International Sculpture Conference: Sculpture, Culture, and Community will take place in New Orleans, Louisiana from October 1-4, 2014. This two track conference will feature panel discussions presented by artists, arts administrators, curators, and more who will discuss topics in artistic vision and community engagement, public art and temporal sculpture, artistic process in a current landscape, and other key topics in contemporary sculpture. Panel discussions will be held at the Contemporary Arts Center New Orleans, Ogden Museum of Southern Art, Renaissance New Orleans Arts Hotel, and Xavier University.

It will also feature keynote speakers Alice Aycock and Fairfax Dorn, a glass casting workshop at Tulane University, ARTSlams, networking events, a number of tours, including art tours in Uptown New Orleans, a performance by New Orleans Airlift, and the Creative Corridor Tour in Central City, and will explore how sculpture and the arts can rejuvenate communities and economies. Early bird members can sign up for the littleSCULPTURE show during the 24th International Sculpture Conference. The littleSCULPTURE show is an exhibition comprised of small artworks, and will showcase how these talented artists handle the challenges of space and scale as dictated by the 8” x 8” x 8” size restriction. The opening will take place during Art for Arts’ Sake, an annual New Orleans Street Party that opens the art season. Space is limited, so register early to secure your spot.
